Joseph Donlin

MERRILL, Iowa--Joseph "Jay" Donlin, 84, died Friday at the Akron Community Hospital in Akron.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the United Methodist Church in Merrill. The Rev. Bardole will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery. Prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mr. Donlin was born March 3, 1900, in Marcus. He married Ethel Cook, Feb. 15, 1922, in Seney. He farmed in his early married life and worked for Sioux Tools for 15 years before retiring.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Merrill.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Elaine) Wendt of LeMars, Mrs Wayne (Esther) Hamilton of Merrill; one son, Donald of Merrill; one sister, Mrs. Alvin Winterfield of Craig; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
