Area Deaths
FUNERAL SATURDAY FOR JOHN E. SMITH--FORMER RESIDENT

John E. Smith, 74, Sioux City, died Wednesday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Smith was born May 27, 1886, at Correctionville. He moved to the LeMars vicinity as a young man where he farmed and conducted a general trucking business until moving to Sioux City in 1940.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Huddle of Norwalk, Cal., and Mrs. Ruth Taylor of Sioux City, and two brothers, Ernest of Clarinda, and Oscar of Caldwell, Idaho.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Free Methodist church. Rev. W. F. Biggerstaff will officiate and burial will be in Plymouth (Presbyterian) cemetery near LeMars under the direction of the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside.

Pallbearers will be Leonard and Jess Horner, both of Sioux City; Harvey Taylor and Fay Port, both of Akron, Glenn Reeves of LeMars and Lowell Parks of Remsen.
