Jennie Harker Dies At Age 66
Hold Last Rites For Former Grocer's Wife

Mrs. Jennie Harker, 66, wife of a former LeMars grocer, died Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Miller Rest home in Sioux City following a 6-year illness.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 29, at the First Methodist church in LeMars with the Rev. H. V. Bartz officiating. Burial was in the city cemetary (sic--cemetery) with Wiltgen's funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harker was born July 28, 1884 in Stanton township to Robert and Sarah Hodgson.

After her marriage to Frank Harker Oct. 18, 1907 (error--actually October 20, 1909) in Stanton township, the couple moved to LeMars where Mr. Harker helped operate the Dennler-Harker Grocery for 12 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and two sisters.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Penning of LeMars; three brothers, William Hodgson of LeMars, George Hodgson of Wessington Springs, S. D., and R. C. Hodgson of Stanton township; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Hechenlively (sic--Heckenlively) of Stanton township and three grandchildren.
