Mrs. Rosa Jones Called by Death

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa K. Jones, 70, of Merrill, who died unexpectedly Tuesday, will be at 2 o'clock this week Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Merrill. Burial will be in the cemetary at that place.

Mrs. Jones was born October 10, 1881, near Hinton. She lived in Plymouth County all her life. She was married March 4, 1906, to John A. Jones, in Plymouth County. Mr. Jones died in 1920.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cleo Furrow, Jr. of Early, Iowa, and Mrs. Lois Lockard of Sioux City; a son Alfred Jones of Merrill; two sisters and two brothers.

DIES, RITES FRIDAY
AT MERRILL CHURCH

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Katherine Jones, 70, of Merrill, who died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, will be held Friday, April 11, at 2 o’clock at the Merrill Methodist church. The Rev. David Streyffeler will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Merrill city cemetery.

Rosa Katherine Schneider Jones, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schneider was born Oct. 10, 1881, in Plymouth county near Melbourne.

She attended schools in the county and Westmar College then known as the LeMars Normal school. She taught in rural schools before her marriage.

She was married to John Allen Jones, March 4, 1906, at the home of her parents near Merrill. They lived in North and South Dakota three years before returning to live in the Merrill vicinity. Mr. Jones died in 1920. In recent years she was a dental assistant.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Merrill Methodist church, Women’s Society of Christian Service and the American Legion auxiliary.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. S. M. (Cleo) Furrow, Jr., of Early, Iowa, and Mrs. G.W. (Lola) Lockard of Sioux City, one son, Alfred J. Jones of Merrill and seven grandchildren.

Also two sisters, Mrs. Ed Phillips of Elkton, S.D., and Miss Gertrude Schneider, LeMars and two brothers, Grover Schneider of Merrill and Herman Schneider, of Leeds.
