Mrs. John Giever died at her home, 807 Prospect street, early Sunday morning, after a brief illness from pneumonia.

Mrs. Giever was born at Michelan, in the Grand duchy of Luxemberg, Europe, June 20, 1866. Her maiden name was Lucy Maria Majerus. On October 10, 1888, she was married to Nicholas Oberecken. They lived on a farm near Oyens after coming to Plymouth County and then lived in Owens and Dalton. Mr. Oberecken died in 1912. After her husband's death Mrs. Oberecken made a visit to her old home in Luxemburg and then returned to Le Mars where she since made her home. She subsequently was united in marriage with John Giever on December 30, 1919.

She is survived by her husband, John Giever, her niece, Mrs. Catherine Thilges and six step children who are Rose, Magdalen and Mary, of Woodstock, Minn; Dr. John B. Giever, of Omaha, Cecil and Clara of Le Mars.

Mrs. Giever had a large circle of friends and acquaintances and was highly esteemed by all who knew her.

The funeral services will be held at St. Joseph church of which she was a member, this morning.
