Christena M. Lubben

LE MARS, Iowa – Christena M. Lubben, 88, of Le Mars died Saturday, May 22, 1993, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center at Le Mars.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural Le Mars with the Rev. Jack Hebard officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 7-8 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home, Le Mars.

Mrs. Lubben was born Nov. 15, 1904, in Preston Township, the daughter of Fred and Johanna (Nannen) Haage, She married Gerhard William Lubben July 15, 1925, at Preston Township. He died Jan. 25, 1957.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Lubben and his wife, Dorothy of Brunsville and Earl Lubben and his wife, Dorothy of Le Mars; a daughter, Lorraine Renken and her husband, Elmer of Ireton; 10 grandchildren, Dean, Darwin, Mark, Bradley, Nancy, Sharon, Brenda, Tim, Terry, and Brian; 11 great-grandchildren; Eric, Crystal, Amy, Alisha, Jande, Joshua, Megan, Emily, Laura, Lisa and Matthew; and a sister, Hanna Borchers of Le Mars.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Henry, John, Herman, Fred and Gert; three sisters, Ann, Flora and Pauline; and a son, Lester in infancy.
