Hinton Gazette: Elon Judson Noble was born in Chenango county, New York state, April 22, 1833 and died at his country home southeast of Hinton, on Tuesday, July 28, 1908.

Mr. Noble was joined in marriage to Miss Jane A. Manwaring, Oct 27, 1857. To this union were born twelve children, ten of whom are now living. This union was broken by the death of the wife and mother, May 14, 1880. In June, 1887, Mr. Noble was united in marriage with Miss Rebecca Willis, who remains behind and feels the loss of a considerate and affectionate husband.

Like all who dwell in temples of day; imperfection is always noticeable in a greater or less degree; but unlike many of us who remain, was his confidence and trust with God. A trust by which, during the last weeks of his suffering, he was able to rest all with him so peacefully to life's close. He has entered, we believe, upon the endless day. Thus, a life has gone but not to be forgotten. Unseen but felt.

Those present at the funeral from a long distance, were his daughters, Mrs. Roy Wiley and Mrs. Ralph Wiley, from Kadoka, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Noble, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Noble and Mr. and Mrs. Alex McDougall and two daughters from Struble.
