JOHN KLOHS

John Klohs, 77, Maurice, a native of Dalton, West LeMars, died unexpectedly Christmas Day (December 25, 1978) while visiting relatives in Ames.

Mr. Klohs was a retired farmer, having farmed east of LeMars and in the Maurice his entire life.

He was born Aug. 10, 1901, at Dalton to John A. and Frederica Baack Klohs. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

His marriage to Mary Alice Hamilton took place June 12, 1924, at Phoenix, Ariz. She died Dec. 29, 1971. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son William F. Klohs, three sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Hanthorn officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Harriet) Goslin, Ames, and Mrs. Johnnie L. Ball, Nevada, Iowa; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Klohs, Cedar Rapids, and two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Morrison, Aberdeen, S.D., and Mrs. Ann Keiper, Tuscson, Ariz.
