Well Known Man Dies.
His many friends in Akron learned with sorrow of the death of Alfred [sic] B. Tresler, who passed away Saturday, December 22, 1928, at the home of his step-son, Mr. Hendricks, near Yankton, S.D. after a brief illness of pneumonia, aged 72 years, 7 months and 12 days.
Alfred [sic] Bunker Tresler was born in Indiana May 10, 1856. In early life he came to Akron, and he had been a resident of Akron for a number of years. His first marriage was to Hattie Batchelder, and to this union was born one daughter, Emma, now Mrs. Davis of Rolla, North Datota. Mrs. Tresler died a few years after their marriage. In 1896, at Elk Point, S.D., Mr. Tresler was again married, to Jennie Batchelder, and to this union four children were born - William, Nellie, Edward and Donald. All survive except the youngest son, Donald, who died three months ago, following an appendicitis operation. They have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
In early life Mr. Tresler became a member of the Christian Church. Three years ago he met with an accident, being struck by a locamotive [sic] while driving across the railroad track here, which came nearly being fatal. The recent death of his son, Donald, was a great blow to him. Mr. Tresler had done street work for the town for about fifteen years and was faithful and painstaking in the discharge of his duties.
The remains were brought to Akron Monday and funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.C. Davis at 3:30 o'clock that afternoon in the Christian Church. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
