Mrs. Mary E. SWANSON
Mrs. Mary E. SWANSON died Saturday morning, June 20th, at the home of her son, Gustave. She had been invalid for fourteen years. Mrs. SWANSON was born in Sweden in 1836, came to America in 1893. She leaves five children, Carl of Sioux City, Edward of Cherokee, Gustave and Victor of this place, and Mrs. Earnest PETERSON of Cherokee. The funeral was held at the house at 3 p.m. Sunday. The remains where laid to rest in the Liberty township cemetery, The pallbearers were her four sons, Mr. PETERSON and Mr. ANDERSON. [21 June 1908]

Ed Swanson arrived Saturday from Cherokee to be at the bedside of his mother, who was sick at the home of her son, Gust Swanson. The old lady passed away Friday night and was buried Sunday afternoon in the Liberty Township cemetery. [from the local newspaper]
