Services Saturday for Gust SWANSON
Gust Swanson, 80, who had farmed in Plymouth county over 50 years, died last week Thursday at a LeMars hospital after seven months of illness.
He was born Sep. 3, 1878, in Sweden, the son of Sven and Mary Peterson. Following Swedish custom, children take the father's first name as their sir-name ---Svenson or, in this country, SWANSON.
Mr. SWANSON came to this country in 1893. After moving to Plymouth county, he farmed for many years in Liberty township northwest of Hinton.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hershel HARDING of Troy, Mont., who is a member of the Women's Air Force stationed at Yaak air force base, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and a brother, Victor SWANSON of LeMars. Preceeding Mr. SWANSON in death were his wife and a son.
Graveside services were held at 2 p,m, Saturday at the Liberty township cemetery. Pallbearers were Pete JENSEN, Oral BUNNES, Ejner HANSEN, Tom FLANNERY, Loyd CROUCH and Harry KOVARNA. [1959]
