Potosia: ( special correspondance )

Albert KODYM, the 9 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert KODYM, of Omaha, died of paraylsis of the heart caused by diphtheria, at the home of his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph PAVOLVIC, between 11 and 12 o'clock Tuesday night, Jan. 25, 1898. He was taken sick three weeks ago with diphtheria which left him very weak and he gradually grew weaker until the death angel took him to his long home where there is no sickness and parting. Albert was the only boy of the family and was a very bright, intellectual child, far exceeding most boys of his age in his studies. He made friends everywhere and was always glad to take part in Sunday school and day school programs for which he showed considerable talent. Albert was born at the home of his grandparents and has always made his home with them. He leaves father, mother, one sister, grandparents, several aunts and uncles, a host of little friends to mourn for him. His father came from Omaha Wednesday in response to a telegram. His mother has been here for some time. His relatives were almost heartbroken with grief and have the sympathy of all who knew them. Lawernce HARDY, who died a few days ago, and Albert were the closest of friends and always sat together at school; now they lay side by side in the little cemetery at this place. Albert was buried Thursday afternoon and about twenty relatives and friends followed the remains to their resting place. Mr. and Mrs. KODYM with their daughter, Albina, will leave for Omaha the last of the week. Albina has made her home here with her grandparents since she was a very small child. During her brother's illness she had been staying with James PAVLOVIC and wife.
