Last Rites For W. H. Burkett

William H. Burkett, 84, Merrill, Ia., a resident of Plymouth county for 60 years, died last week Friday in a nursing home after a brief illness.

He was born April 8, 1872, in Aledo, Ill., and he went to Perry, IA., as a child, later moving to Plymouth county. He retired in 1938. Suvivors include the widow, Josephine; two sons, J. H. BURKETT of Sioux City, and Albert of Tenafly, N. J.; a daughter, Mrs. Josphine KELM of Morgan, Mich.; six granchildren; a brother, Lowell of Grand Junction, Ia. and a sister, Mrs. Margaret CLARK of Harlan, Ia.

Services were held at 1: 30 p.m. Monday in the Nelson - Berger North Side chapel at Sioux City.

Burial was in Liberty township cemetery. [May 1956]
