Death Takes Old Settler Mrs. Rebecca BERGER
Mrs. Rebecca Berger, a pioneer of Plymouth county and for many years a resident of Perry township, died Friday at her home, 122 Myrtle Street, Sioux City, at the age of 71 years.
Mrs. Berger was born at Evansville, Ind., and when a girl her parents moved to Nebraska. She came to Iowa from Allen, Neb., to Sioux City in 1869, and later moved to Plymouth county where she lived for many years and of late years lived in Sioux City.
She was married May 2, 1882, to Jacob Berger. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church.
Surviving are her husband, three sons, George, William and Walter BERGER of Hinton; three daughters, Mrs. David MARCH, of White River, S.D., Mrs. Clyde BROWN of Hinton, Mrs.and Mrs. Wesley BROWN of Merrill; three sisters, Mrs. William BEAGLEY and Mrs. W. H. HARPER, both of Sioux City, and Elizabeth SLADE of Astoria, Ore.; two brothers, Joseph ATKIN of Sioux City, and Thomas ATKIN of South Sioux City, Neb., and twelve grand children.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the St. Paul's Episcopal church in Sioux City, Rev. E. H. GAYNOR, officiating. Interment was made in the Liberty township cemetery.
