Death of John Bruns

John Bruns passed away at his home two and one-half miles northwest of Dalton, on Wednesday, of pneumonia, after a brief illness and the funeral was held on Friday afternoon at the German Lutheran church in Grant township, conducted by Rev, J. D. Meyer.

He was fifty-five years of age and leaves a wife and six children. He took a severe; cold and pneumonia developed and he lived but two or three days.

He was born in Germany and came to the United States when a young man. With his family he came to Plymouth county about 24 years ago where he lived for several years, when
he went to South Dakota where he engaged in farming. He came to Plymouth county about two years ago and purchased the old Farquahr farm northwest of Dalton, where he was building a splendid home when death came.

John Backer and family, son-in-law and daughter of Mr. Bruns, Mrs. Oltmann a sister of Mr. Bruns of Sterling, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Helms and Mr. and Mrs. John Dornbush of Remsen came to attend the funeral.
