John Reeves Died Tuesday Morning

Was Last Member of Pioneer Family

John H. Reeves, last of a pioneer Plymouth county family, died at the home of his daughter near LeMars early Tuesday morning, September 4, at the age of 84 years.

He was born in Kane county, Ill., April 10, 1861. Mr. Reeves came to Plymouth county in 1869 and lived in and around LeMars the rest of his life. He farmed until 1915 and then worked at the carpenter trade until his health failed. Mr. Reeves married Harriett (sic-Harriet) Osborne, October 17, 1883. Mrs. Reeves passed away August 23, 1915. Mr. Reeves made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Will Penning since the death of his wife. He leaves to mourn his passing one son, W. A. Reeves of LeMars and one daughter, Mrs. Will Penning of LeMars, two grandchildren, Wayne Penning who is in military service in the Philippines, and Mrs. Ralph Wickersham; also three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in charge of Rev. John Oe??er, and burial was in the LeMars city cemetery.
