Heart Attack Proves Fatal to W. S. Hale

Well Known Traveling Man Expires
After An Illness of a Few Hours

W.S. Hale, well known traveling man, died suddenly at his home, 514 Second Avenue, SE, Thursday evening November 8 (1934 /H/) Death was due to an attack of heart trouble. Mr. Hale was ill only a few hours and was actively engaged in business up to within a short time before his death, when he was ordered to bed by an attending physician. William Samuel Hale was born at Sydney (sic - Lydney /H/), England, March 1, 1864 and came to the United States when a youth. He is survived by his wife, Cora P. Hale, to whom he was married at Storm Lake, September 22, 1921, a daughter, Bernice, living in Milwaukee, Wis., four brothers, Roy and James Hale of Fort Dodge; Andrew Hale, of Rhoades, (sic - Rhodes /H/), Iowa; Thomas Hale of Cedar Falls, and two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Heath and Marian (sic - Miriam /H/) Hale, of Fort Dodge. A brother, Adrian (sic - Aaron /H/) Hale, preceded him in death two years ago.

Mr. Hale was a traveling salesman for thirty-eight years, representing a large shoe concern, and was widely known in the territory he covered. For the past nine years he was city salesman for a company dealing in household and farm supplies.

FUNERAL HELD SUNDAY

Mr. Hale made many friends by his genial disposition and kindly ways. He was a great lover of sports of all kinds and was well informed on general topics and a pleasant man to meet. He was a member of the Methodist church.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Luken funeral home, with Rev. J.R. Tumbieson, pastor of the First Methodist church officiating and interment was made in the city cemetery.
