Obituary-LeMars Semi Weekly Sentinel June 14, 1904.
Death of Georgie Hodgson-the fifteen year old daughter of Mrs. R. Hodgson, died at her home on Cedar Street on Friday evening after a brief illness of pneumonia. She was taken sick on Thursday and rapidly grew worse in spite of all that medical science and skillful nursing could do for her. She had but recently recovered from an attack of the measles. Her death is a terrible blow to the mother and three brothers as she was the only daughter in the family and the youngest member. The funeral was held Sunday at the Methodist church, Rev A A Randall pastor and Rev W. B. Empey, of Merrill, officiating and was very largely attended many friends from Merrill and Washington township where the family formerly lived being present.
The members of her Sunday School class attended the funeral in a body. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Among the out of town relatives at the funeral were L.D Manchester, Sioux Falls, SD.; James Raw, Shullsburg, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fish of Mallard, Iowa; and Mr. Gillette of Mason City, Iowa.
[She died 10 Jun 1904]
