Akron: Iowa -- Lambert N. Jeffers, 72, of Akron died unexpectedly Monday in
Casper, Wyo., while visiting his daughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Trinity Lutheran Church in
Akron. The Rev. Marvin Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in the
Plymouth Presbyterian Cemetery, rural LeMars. There will be a prayer
service at 8 p.m. today in the Schroeder Funeral Home at Akron.
Mr. Jeffers was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Plymouth county.
He married Merna Douglas, March 20, 1930, rural LeMars. They farmed until
1952 when they moved to Akron. He worked for Younglove Construction Co. for
many years, retiring in 1975. She died Aug. 23, 1980.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Marion) Utesch of Akron and
Mrs. David (Marcille) Sundem of Mills, Wyo.; two sons, Roger of Sioux City
and Frank of Casper; three sisters, Mrs. Pearle Miller of Akron, Mrs.
Lucille Plueger of Brunsville and Mrs. Harry (Evelyn) Thietje of Yakima,
Wash.; one brother, Daryl of Aurora, Colo.; 18 grandchildren and 12
