Mrs. Frank (Annie) Kunath, 82, of Remsen died Monday (Dec. 12, 1983) at Happy Siesta nursing home in Remsen.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen. Rev. Myron Herzberg will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery under the direction of the Moeller Funeral Home of Remsen.
Mrs. Kunath, the former Annie Kloster, was born Oct. 16, 1901, in Plymouth County to Thorvald and Anna Sophia (Nielsen) Kloster. She married Frank Henry Kunath Feb. 21, 1923, at Oyens.
She was a housewife and devoted her life to the care of two invalid daughters and her husband.
They farmed in Fredonia Township until 1947 when they moved into Oyens.
He died in 1958. She moved to the Happy Siesta Retirement Home in Remsen four years ago.
She was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Oyens until its closing and was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen.
Survivors are one daughter, Ruth A. of Remsen; three sisters, Mrs. Herlig Petersen, Mrs. Elise Petersen and Mrs. Charlotte Andersen, all of Le Mars; three brothers, Jens of Le Mars, Nis of Correctionville and NIels of Remsen.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, three sisters and a brother Niels. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, December 13, 1983, page 14.
