JOHN HEEREN

John Heeren, 93, a Plymouth county native, died Tuesday (Nov. 27, 1973) at Floyd Valley hospital after an extended illness. He had resided at the hospital since February 1973.

A retired farmer, John Falkels Heeren was born July 29, 1880, in Grant township, rural LeMars, the son of the late Herman F. and Anna Louise Grahlmann Heeren. His marriage to Edith G. Harms took place in February 1906 in Johnson township near LeMars. The couple lived on a Plymouth county farm until their retirement to LeMars in 1941. Mrs. Heeren preceded her husband in death. She died Feb. 19, 1967.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John American Lutheran church in LeMars. Rev. Arnold Imbrock and Rev. William Striepe will officate. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Louise Rann, LeMars; two sons, Herman Heeren and Louis Heeren, both of LeMars; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Mr. Heeren was a longtime member of St. John American Lutheran church.
