MRS. CHARLES G. BRODIE, 80, LeMars, Iowa -- Died July 20, 1972, hospital at
LeMars, long illness. Funeral 2 p.m. July 23, Presbyterian United Church of
Christ, Rev. Ralph Nelson.
Burial Plymouth Presbyterian Cemetery, rural LeMars, Mauer funeral home.

Former Eva Viola King, born June 30, 1892, Adaville. Married Sept. 2, 1914,
Sioux City. Lifelong resident of Plymouth County.

Survivors: Widower; son, Gordon R. of Merrill; daughter, Mrs. Bernard Willis
of Lake City; sister, Mrs. Bessie LaBahn of Merrill; brother, Verne King of
LeMars; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Charles G. (Eva) Brodie, 80, 530 First Ave. SE died late Thursday night
(July 20, 1972) at Floyd Valley hospital after three weeks hospitalization.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian United Church
of Christ with Rev. Ralph Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Plymouth
Presbyterian cemetery at Crathorne under direction of the Mauer funeral
home, LeMars.

The former Eva King, she was born June 30, 1892, at Adaville, a daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Oliver King. She graduated from LeMars high school in
1910 and taught in Plymouth county schools. She was married to Charles G.
Brodie, Sept. 2, 1914.

Mrs. Brodie was active in church and community affairs. She was a member of
the Presbyterian United Church of Christ and served as a Sunday school
superintendent and teacher. She was a member of the Farm Bureau Chorus,
served on Merrill public school board, was a member of the Merrill Study
Club and the LeMars Friday club.

Survivors are her husband, Charles of LeMars; a son, Gordon and his wife
Bettie of Merrill; a daughter Mrs. Bernard (Margaret) Willis and her
husband, Bernard, of Lake City; a sister, Mrs. Bessie LaBahn of Merrill; a
brother, Verne King, who resides at Brentwood [nursing home]; nine
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
