Funeral of an Aged Resident.
Mrs. Burke and daughter, of Omaha, and Frank Burke, of Sleepy Eye, Minn., arrived here on Monday night with the remains of their husband and father, Edward Burke [1839-1908], who died in Omaha. The remains were interred in the Homan Catholic cemetery. Mr. Burke was well known to many of the older residents of Plymouth county. He was for several years section foreman here and at Merrill before going to Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, and from there he went to Omaha. He acquired a piece of land just west of Merrill many years ago and owned the farm at the time of his death.

He was a native of New York and served as volunteer in the Civil war. He was fine man and was highly regarded by many who knew him when he resided here, F. E. Burke, the son, is now engaged in the furniture and undertaking business.
