Stinton-At his home in Pleasant Valley, at half past ten. Saturday night. Joseph Stinton aged 69 years.

Mr. Stinton was an old and respected citizen of this county for 22 years during which time he had lived on his place in Johnson Township. He has been one of the prominent men in his community and his decease will be mourned greatly by a large circle of friends throughout the county. He was one of the original members of the United Brethren society which was organized in Johnson Township in 1873 and he has steadfastly adhered to the church of his faith, for several years preceding his death he had been one of the trustees.

Mr. Stinton was born in Cambridgeshire, England, in 1826 and in 1846 was married to his first wife Esther Fletcher. in 1852 he came to America, landing at New Orleans and coming up the Mississippi by boat settling in Clinton County.

He afterwards lived at Elk River before moving to Plymouth County. His wife died in 1867 and in the following year he returned to England and married her sister, a widow with three children and five children blessed his second union.

His funeral occurs today and the remains will be interred in the Adaville Cemetery.
