Anderson, Ferdinand Henry 1896 - 1990

ANDERSON, SELK, HARKNESS

Ferdinand Henry Anderson, 94, longtime Akron area resident, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 1990, at the Akron City Convalescent Care Center of a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron. Rev. Allen Bidne officiated. Mark Anderson, vocalist sang "Beautiful Savior" and "How Great Thou Art", accompanied by Pam Richards, organist. Congregational hymns were "O God Our Help In Ages Past" and "Lift High The Cross." Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, under direction of Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron.

Honorary pallbearers were Scott Anderson, Robert Rockhill, and Larry Pendzich.

Active pallbearers were Jim Hughes, Eric Anderson, Mark Anderson, Robert Connor, Doug Dams and Lurraine Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was born April 10, 1896, near Akron, the son of Chris and Margaretha (Selk) Anderson. He married Hannah Harkness Oct. 17, 1917, at Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. The couple farmed in Union Township and at Kingsley for a few years, and for many years farmed in Union county, S.D. Mrs. Anderson died Jan. 29, 1984, and he moved to the nursing home in February 1985.

Survivors include two sous and daughter-in-law, Elmer Anderson and Lesley and Maxine Anderson, all of Akron; a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Dams of Muskego, Wise.; seven grandchildren, Eric Anderson and Susan Anderson, both of Akron; Sheryl Pendzich, of Milwaukee; Douglas Dams, Cedar Rapids; Sandra Rockhill, Sheboygan, Wise.; Cynthia Anderson. Akron; and Julia Hughes, Alcester; seven greatgrandchildren Scott and Mark Anderson, Hanna and Margaret Pendzich, and Jean, JoSandra and Jenna Hughes; two brothers, George of Kingsley, and Edward of Spencer; and a sister, Minnie King in California.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ella Swanson, Mary Heyl, and Hanna Dimmick; three brothers, William, Reinhart, and Rudolf; a son-in-law, Elwood Dams; and a daughter-in-law, Jean Anderson.
