Rollins, Lydia (Mrs. Grover) 1893 - 1956

As briefly recorded an these columns last week, Mrs. Grover Rollins, of Sioux City, passed away at Akron Community Hospital on Tuesday evening, March 20, 1956, after a lingering illness, at the age of 63 years, 9 months and 14 days.

Lydia Pearl Harrington, the daughter of Coleman and Emma Harrington, was born June 6, 1893, near Westfield, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage with Grover Rollins on October 24, 1912, in Westfield at the Congreational church, where they were both members. They resided in Westfield vicinity for a few years and later lived in Missouri until 1934, when they moved to Sioux City.

Survivors include the widower, Grover, of Sioux City; a son, Kenneth, of Sheldon, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Hebeler, of Akron, and Mrs. Mervin Hall, of Masonville, Iowa; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. 0. B. Lilly and Mrs. Mabel Lilly, both of Westfield, and five brothers, Albert, Percy and Arthur Harrington, all of Westfield; Cecil, of Vermillion S. D., and Vessey, of Huson, Montana. A kind and devoted wife and mother, a valued friend and neighbor, she will be missed and mourned by all who new her.

Funeral services were held last Friday at 2.00 p. m. in Westfield Congregational Church,, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Albert " Walker. Acting as pallbearers were A. C. Banks, Roger Banks, Wallace Lilly, Lloyd Orouch, Jim Mansfield and Clara Lilly. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
