Mrs. Ward Smith, 64. O'Neill, Nebr., former Akron resident died November 11, 1976 at an O'Neill hospital of a long illness.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Wesley United Methodist Church, Akron. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith, the former Marie Gladys Rozell, was born April 27, 1912 at Akron. She was married Dec. 15, 1932, at Elk Point, S.D. The couple farmed many years in the Akron-Westfield area. They moved to O'Neill in 1955.

Survivors include the widower; four sons, Duane of Sioux City, Daryl of Westfifeld, Ronnie of O'Neill, and Gerald of Hawarden; one daughter, Mrs. Russell Thomas of O'Neill; six brothers, Arthur, Arden, Archie and Arlo, all of Akron, and Arvil and Alva, both of Le Mars; five sisters, Mrs. Mae Neunaber of Akron, Mrs. Mary Moss of Sioux City, Mrs. Merva Hartman of Hawarden, Mrs. Mona Smith of Akron and Mrs. Muriel Kruger of Janesville, Wise., and 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Porter, Arthur Holz, Armand Brown, Robert Shaw, John Matthews and Herb Yates.
