Darrell G. Caskey, 62, of rural Westfield, Ia., died Monday (Oct. 14,1991), unexpectedly at his home.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron. The Rev. Don Greenough will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, under direction of Schroeder Funeral home in Akron. Graveside rites will be held by McHale American Legion Post 724 of Brunsville. Visitation was held Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Soloist Bob Brown will sing "How Great Thou Art" and "Going Home", accompanied by organist Carol Harris.

Pallbearers are Marvin Juzek, Gerald Ream, Leland Burcham, Dwain Wilier, Harold Burcham and Bob Utesch.

Mr. Caskey was born Oct. 11, 1929, at Akron, la., the son of Charles, Sr. and Carrie Button Caskey. He married Donna Wilier June 5,1952, at Luverne, Minn. He entered the service Jan. 23,1952 and served until Jan. 23, 1954, stationed at Fort Mead, Maryland. He moved back to Westfield in 1954 and was a lifelong farmer in the area. The couple operated the Knotty Keg in Westfield from 1972 until 1989. He was also a Northrup King seed dealer for many years. He was a member of the Westfield Lions club and McHale 724, American Legion in Brunsville.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; two sons, Stephen and his wife, Sharon of Sioux City, Douglas and his wife, Sandra of Westfield; a daughter, Penny Caskey of Akron; one granddaughter, Mary; nine step-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Caskey of Elk Point, and Eldon Caskey of Sioux City; two sister, Annabel Harkness of Denver, Colo., and Bernice Hughes of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brother, Charles, Jr., Harley, Raymond, Freeman, Dwayne, and Arden; and two sisters, Ollie Peck and Myrtle Talbor.
