Robert "Bob" Smith

Robert "Bob" Frank Smith, 60, Akron, died Wednesday (Feb. 27,1980) at his home of a long illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron. Dr. Carrol McLaughlin, Sioux City officiated. Burial
was in Riverside cemetery under direction of Schroeder funeral home, Akron. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Music was provided by Daryl and Renae Schlumbohm of Ireton, accompanied by organist, Benita Engel, Sioux City.

Mr. Smith was born June 13, 1919 at Westfield, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith. He married Mona Rozell, Feb. 26, 1941 at Akron. They were lifelong farmers retiring in October of 1978. For many years Bob enjoyed his horses and mules and shared his enjoyment with others in parades and giving many children rides.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn, and his father, Frank Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Mona; one daughter Marilyn and her husband Red Quilleash of Sioux City; two grandsons, Bobby and David Quilleash, Sioux City; his mother, Mrs. Frank Smith, formerly of Akron, now residing in Le Mars; four brothers, John C. and Virgil, both of Akron; Harry and Ward, both of O'Neill, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Orville (Hope) Harbeck, Sioux City, and Mrs. Melvin (Ella) Johnson, Akron; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Art Voss, Jim Utesch, Edmund Blum, Don Boetger, Robert Voss and Daryl Port. Honorary bearers were Leonard Vander Esch, RoyWngston, Elmer Holt-J kamp; Gerald Voss, Arval Jurgensen, Chuck Wilier, Don Beedle and William Utesch.
