Henry Frederick Emil Steinert, 93, longtime Akron resident, died Monday Sept. 28. 1992, at the Akron Care Center after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 at Trinity Lutheran church in Akron, with Allen Bidne officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery in Akron.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Pallbearers are Delmar Kleihauer, Harold Kleihauer, Kenny Kleihauer, Gary Hartmann, Arlo Rozell, and Marvin Hitzemann.

Mr. Steinert was born April 17, 1899 at Oshkosh, Wis., the son of August and Ida (Meske) Steinert. He was baptized May 7, 1977 and confirmed into the Lutheran faith March 16, 1913 by Pastor W.D. Ahl, at the Evangelical Lutheran church in Oshkosh. He married Flora Reemts June 22, 1921 by Pastor Fred A. Meske, at the Evangelical Lutheran church in Akron. Mrs. Steinert died Sept. 1945. His father died Aug. 10, 1911 at the age of 39, and his mother died Dec. 30, 1912 at the age of 38 leaving eight children. Henry came to Akron July 13, 1917. He worked at various occupations. He was a farm laborer; clerk at the Ruble store; a painter; and worked a number of years at a local elevator. He started farming in 1929 in Union .county, South Dakota, where he farmed until his retirement in 1977. He lived with his daughter and son-in-law Naomi and Elmo Fletcher from 1945 -until moving- to the Akron Care Center, Nov. 4, 1991.

Survivors include his daughter, Naomi and her husband, Elmo Fletcher; two granddaughters, Sharon and her husband, Marlyn Jackson of Plymouth, Minn. and Nancy and her husband Floyd Enstrom of Akron; and one grandson Robert Fletcher and his wife Gloria of Akron; three great-grandsons, John Jacobs, Tom Jacobs and Jerod Enstrom; and two step-great-grandsons, David and Damon Kaberna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four Sisters and three brothers.
