Evelyn M. Neal

Evelyn Maurine Neal, 82, Westfield, died Friday, June 26, 1992 at the Akron Care Center in Akron.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. Rev. Martin Healy, officiated. Shirley Banks, soloist sang "How Great Thou Art", "In The Garden", and "The Lord's Prayer", accompanied by Sheryl Banks, pianist. Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron. Pallbearers were Jeff Lahr, Paul Martin, John Martin, Pat Dennison, Tom Dennison and John Dennison.

Mrs. Neal was born Dec. 6, 1909, at Frankfort, S.D., the daughter of John and Emma (Hoy) Matteson. She grew up and attended school at Frankfort. She married Wesley Byrel Neal Oct. 1, 1929 at Parker, S.D. He died in October 1985. She had lived in the Westfield/Akron area since her marriage. She enjoyed working with flowers and crocheting

Survivors include a son, Wesley A. Neal of Lino Lakes, Minn.; three daughters and their husbands, Jeanine and Tom Martin, Barbara and Tom Dennison and Bonnie and Gaylord Lahr, all of Westfield; a brother, Darrell Matteson and his wife, Laura, of Renwick, Iowa; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Mrs. Wesley) Neal.
