Merrill Pioneer Succumbs At Age
of 73 Years In Her Home at
Sioux City

Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine
Beaulieu, 73 years old, 216
Sioux street, Sioux City, who died
in her home Friday morning, was
held at 9:30 this morning in St.
Boniface Catholic church, Sioux
City, Rev. Joseph Klaus officiated.
Burial was in Ellendale cemetery.

Mrs. Beaulieu was a native of
Bohemia, having come to the
United States when she was a
child. She had lived in the vicinity
of Merrill until she went to
Sioux City in 1916.

Mrs. Josephine Beaulieu Dies at Age of 73
Mrs. Josephine Beaulieu, 73 years old, died Friday morning in her home, 216 Sioux street. She had resided in Sioux City since 1916. Death was attributed to diabetes and relative complications.

Born in Bohemia, March 19, 1856, Mrs. Beaulieu came to the United States with her parents when she was 12 years old. They homesteaded nine miles west of Merrill, Ia. Mrs. Beaulieu was married to A. Beaulieu, January 18, 1874. After 40 years on the farm, she moved to Merrill, where she spent five years. She came to Sioux City from Merrill.

Survivors include: A daughter, Mrs. Max Huber, Sioux City; six sons, Alex, Frank, Edward, George, Henry and Louis Beaulieu, all of whom live on farms west of Merrill; 30 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The body is at Perasso Bros. funeral home.

The maiden name of Mrs. Josephine Beaulieu was JUZEK.
Josephine Juzek married Alexander Beaulieu on January 18, 1874.
