Mrs. Frank Hoffman passed away at
5 o'clock last Friday morning. July
23d, at the home of her it other. Mrs.
M. Foley, in Akron, aged 27 years, 7
months and 25 days, of cancer of the
stomach. Last December she was
taken ill and submitted to an operation
at St. Joseph's hospital in Sioux City
in February. Her health improved for
a time thereafter, but she steadily declined
for the past three months.
Bridgetta Foley was born November
28, 1881, at Maurice, Iowa, and in 1382
came with her parents to Johnson township,
Plymouth county, which was true
family home for many years. There
on February 6, 1901, she was united
in marriage with Frank Hoffman,
whom she had known since childhood.
Besides the bereaved husband there
survive three children. Francis, Basil
and Rose: also the mother, Mrs. M.
Foley, of this city; three sisters and
four brothers, Mrc. James Gale, east
of Akron: Mrs. Wm. Welch, of Westfield;
Mrs. Ed. Byrnes, of Brookings,
SD., and Thomas, Michael, James
and Patrick Foley, of Akron. A large
concourse of friends paid tribute to her
memory Saturday morning when the
funeral rites were conducted in St
Patrick's Catholic church by Rev. D.
K. Hurley. Interment was made in
Calvary cemetery beside her departed
sister, Mrs. Ed. Hoffman.
