LIFE'S END
A. Lester Bennett, 84, former Hawarden resident, died Monday at a Santa Rosa, Calif., nursing home. The body was cremated.
Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Orin Harris of Akron and Mrs. M. O. Larson of Hawarden.

Rites Saturday for A. L. Bennett
Memorial services for A. L. Bennett former Hawarden resident who died at Santa Rose, Calif., will be held at 3 o’clock Saturday at the Lewison-Schroeder Funeral home at Akron.
Mrs. Ralph Gretz of Hawarden will sing “Beyond the Sunset”. Rev. Donald Roberts of the Akron Methodist church will conduct the service.
Mr. Bennett was born November 13, 1881, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. D. K. Bennett. He lived in Akron and Hawarden until moving to California in 1944.
He was married to Maude S. Reeves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Reeves, early day residents of this community in 1904. Mrs. Bennett died in 1943. Two of their children died in infancy.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marian Schmidt of San Francisco, Calif., a son, Duane, of Santa Rosa two sisters, Mrs. Orin Harris of Akron and Mrs. M. O. Larson of Hawarden; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
