Mrs. Henry Janssen
Le Mars, Iowa - Mrs. Henry (Frances) Janssen, 92, of Le Mars died Wednesday (June 5, 1985) in a nursing home in Le Mars.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John American Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Tom Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Today in the Maurer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Frances Janssen, the former Frances Meyer, was born June 21, 1892, in Oak Lawn, Illinois. She moved to Grant Township, Plymouth County at the age of 3. She married Henry Janssen January 9, 1913, in Grant Township. The couple farmed near Ireton until 1938, when they moved to a farm near Le Mars. In 1945 they retired to Le Mars. Mr. Janssen died February 7, 1975.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. George (Martha) Vander Tuig and Mrs. Bill (Leona) Lancaster, both of Le Mars, Mrs. Bernie (Marie) Van Roekel of Manson and Mrs. Eugene (Dorothy) Hanson of Cathedral City, California; four sons, Alfred of Le Mars, Lorenz of Hawarden, Elmer of Reno, Nevada, and Fred of Aloha, Oregon; one brother, Ernest of Le Mars; three sisters, Sister Dorothea Meyer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mrs. Martha Gould of Madison, South Dakota, and Mrs. Russell (Ann) Hedman of Everson, Washington,; 26 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
