HARVEY OBERMIRE RITES PLANNED WEDNESDAY AT ST. JAMES CHURCH
Joseph H. (Harvey) Obermire, 67, a retired Plymouth County farmer, died Monday at Floyd Valley hospital after a 2-day illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic church. Rev. Joseph Kerwin will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The rosary will be recited by the parishioners at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home and by the Knights of Columbus at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Obermire was born Feb. 4, 1899, at LeMars. He married Alice M. Levins Nov. 24, 1920, at LeMars, and they farmed near LeMars until retiring in 1957.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Vincent Dieterman of LeMars, Mrs. Joseph Carney of Longmont, Colo., and Mary L. Obermire of Worthington, Minn.; his mother, Mrs. Ralph Obermire and a brother, Rev. Ralph Obermire, both of Ledyard, CA; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; two sons, Robert H. and Joseph, and a sister, Margaret.
