LE MARS DENTIST DIES AT 64
LE MARS, Iowa—Dr. Norman Mauer, 64, a LeMars dentist, died Wednesday in a LeMars hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Presbyterian United Church of Christ. The Rev. Ralph Nelson and the Rev. James Ransom will officiate. Burial will be in the LeMars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.
Dr. Mauer began practicing dentistry in LeMars after he was graduated from the University of Iowa in 1939.
He was born May 3, 1914, at Meriden, and he came to LeMars as a young boy. He married La Vonne Lindsay March 24, 1935, at Pender, Neb.
He was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ, Wasmer Post 241, American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, the Elks Lodge, the LeMars Chamber of Commerce, and the American Dental Association. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Dr. Bruce of LeMars; two daughters, Mary Robertson of Valley, Wash., and Mrs. James (Anne) Dull of Libertyville, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Lowell (Evelyn) White of Beloit, Wis., and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Batts of St. Louis, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial will be established in Dr. Mauer’s name with the American Cancer Society.
