MARION E. MOREHEAD

AKRON, Iowa—Marion E. Morehead, 80, Akron, died Thursday in a Sioux City hospital after a one-day illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Church of Christ in Akron. The Rev. Mark Knox will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home here. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Morehead was born Jan. 12, 1899, at Adaville, Iowa. He married Irene Harding Oct. 30, 1926, at Elk Point, S.D.

They farmed in this area until 1936. He worked for the Waterbury Dairy in Akron for 11 years. They moved to Sioux City where he worked for the Terrace Park Dairy and Tower Communications. He retired in 1964, returning to Akron where he worked part-time for Gassman Motors and Rod’s Ford.

Survivors include the widow; one son, Marvin, of Elk Point; three daughters, Mrs. John (Jeri) Swisher of Harlan, Iowa, Mrs. LeRoy (Juanita) Sands of Sioux City, and Wilma of Sioux City; one brother, Verle of Spirit Lake; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
