SYLVESTER DRECKMAN

Sylvester Dreckman, 66, LeMars native and lifelong resident, died Friday (Jan. 5, 1979) at Floyd Valley hospital in LeMars after a long illness.

Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James Catholic church with Rev. George McFadden officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Luedtke Funeral Home.

Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Dreckman was born April 5, 1912, in LeMars to John and Elizabeth Deters Dreckman. He attended St. Joseph’s school.

Mr. Dreckman had been custodian at the Abbey retirement home here.

Survivors are four brothers, Milton and Reinhard, both of LeMars, Clarence of Lindstrom, Minn., and James of Marcus; and one sister, Mrs. Al (Hyacynth) Lahr, Sauk Centre, Minn.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Felix, Roman, Adrian, and Carl; a sister, Celest Hoss and his parents.
