Death of J. P. Heuertz

J. P. Heuertz died at his farm home south of Remsen at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, after an illness of eight days from typhoid fever.

Deceased was born 39 years ago in St. Donatus, Jackson county, Iowa, (August 2, 1866) as the son of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Heuertz. Thirty years ago he came with his parents to Plymouth county. About fifteen years ago (September 1, 1892) Miss Lena Mai became his wife who survives him with three children aged respectively 12, 9 and 5 years old. (children are Elizabeth, Margaret and Ben) Mrs. Heuertz mother of the deceased, and Mike and John Heuertz, brothers, reside in LeMars. Nicholas Heuertz, brother, Paulline, his sister, are on the home farm in Remsen township.

J. P. Heuertz was a member of St. Mary’s Court, Catholic order of Foresters, in which order he held a $2,000 life insurance policy. The funeral will be Saturday morning under the auspices of St. Mary’s Court, after a solemn requiem at St. Mary’s church.
