Louis B. Wurth 

REMSEN, Iowa -- Louis B. Wurth, 76, of Remsen died Saturday, Sept. 2, 1995, at his home near Remsen after a two-week illness. 

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. John J. McGuirk officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Remsen. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a parish rosary 3 p.m. a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 p.m., at the Fisch Funeral Home, Remsen. 

Mr.Wurth was born July 19, 1919, in Paducah, Ky., the son of George and Fredricka (Weitlauf) Wurth. He was raised and educated and worked in the Puducah area. At age 18, he moved to Florida where he was employed at a dairy farm. In 1940 he moved to the Remsen area where he was a farm laborer. 

He married Doris Arens May 3, 1943, in Culver City, Calif. The couple made their home in Los Angeles where they were employed in shipyards. In June 1945, they returned to the Remsen area where they were engaged in farming until retiring on the farm in 1981. 

Mr. Wurth was amember of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and past member of the board of directors of the Farmers Savings Bank in Remsen. 

Survivors include his wife; seven daughters, Judy and her husband, Dick Majeres of Le Mars, Mary Wurth of Pacifiv Grove, Calif., Peg and her husband, Royce Johnson of Iowa City, Audrey and her husband, Michael Beelner of TRemsen, Jean and her husband, Wally Griffin of Woodstock, Ga., Marge and her husband, Tim Dunn of Eagan, Minn., and Marilyn Wurth and her husband Forrest Meyer of St. Paul, Minn., a son, Michael of Chicago; 16 grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Roy F. and June Wurth of Terre Haute, Ind. and Martin J. and Hilda Wurth of Paducah, Ky.; a sister Barbara and her husband, George Lott of New Richmond, Ohio; and a special driend and dialysis partner, Julie Pottebaum of Remsen. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; abrother, Maurice J. Wurth, and two sisters, Mrs. Aaron (Vida) Greenwell and Miss Agnes Wurth.
