Anthony Abramo, 66, of Le Mars, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at the Royal C. Johnson Memorial Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., following a brief illness.

Anthony (Tony) Samuel Joseph Abramo was born on April 27th, 1939 in Sioux City, the son of Samuel and Violet (Wolfe) Abramo. He was raised in Sioux City and attended Heelan High School.

Tony spent most of his life in the printing business working at City Hall for the City of Sioux City for 18 years, and was then employed at Record Printing. Tony then moved to Fairmont, Minn., where he was employed as a CNA at a nursing home for two years. Missing the printing business he moved to Le Mars and worked for Red's Printing until his retirement in 1997.

Poppa Tony, as his grandchildren affectionately called him, had a proverbial green thumb when it came to plants and gardening. He loved to travel with his children and grandchildren, and always had a story to share with anybody who would listen.

Tony attended the Le Mars Bible Church, and will be missed by all who knew him.
