OCCUPATION: He attended a vocational school in Millard, Iowa, studying television and radio repair. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1970. Following his discharge, he returned to Grand Island, Neb. area. The couple made their home in Grand Island until 1998, when they moved to LeMars. He was employed as a manager in the food service industry and had worked for Milne-Detox of Grand Island. He was presently employed with Siouxland Regional Transit System of Sioux City as a driver in the Plymouth County area.
MEMBER OF: …an active member of the Grand Island R.E.A.C.T. program for several years.
SURVIVORS: …include his wife; two daughters, Julie Nielsen of Cartwright, Okla., and Olivia Swindell of LeMars; four grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Donna and Dick Mattke of Alpharetta, Ga.; a stepbrother, Jim Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
