HAROLD WHITING, SR.

Harold Whiting Sr., 71, rural Akron died Jan. 13, 1974, at his home after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 16, at the Schroeder Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron.

Mr. Whiting was born Aug. 19, 1902, at Alcester, S.D. He ranched for three years in South Dakota before moving to a Union County farm in 1925.

In 1931 he moved to a farm near Akron where he farmed the remainder of his life.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Harold Jr., of Akron; two daughters, Mrs. Violet Mae Madden of Sioux City and Mrs. Alfred (Florence) Husman of Westfield; two sisters, Miss Rose Whiting and Miss Carrie Whiting, both of Akron; and six grandchildren.
