LAST RITES FOR GROVE SCHNEIDER

Grover C. Schneider, a lifelong resident of this community, passed away Friday in a Sioux City hospital following several months of ill health.

Mr. Schneider was born 69 years ago on a farm at Melbourne about two miles northeast of Hinton, and spent his whole life there, where he operated the farm for many years. He was widely known and highly respected by his friends for his many good deeds in the community in which he lived. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Melbourne.

Grover C. Schneider was born Nov. 19, 1884, and was united in marriage to Emma Koenig, Feb. 28, 1912.

Survivors include his widow; a son Dwight Schneider of Arvada, Col., a brother, Herman Schneider of Sioux City; two sisters, Gertrude Schneider of LeMars and Mrs. Ida Philips of Elkton, S.D.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Melbourne Evangelical United Brethren Church, Rev. Charles Henry, officiating, assisted by Rev. George J. Roths. Music consisted of a vocal solo by Rev. Charles Henry and a hymn by the church male quartet composed of Rev. Charles Henry, Art Bogenrief, James Bogenrief, and Rev. George J. Roths.

Burial was in the Memorial City Cemetery at LeMars. Pallbearers were Neal Brink, Raymond Swanson, Merlin Winter, Gordon Spies, Frank Beguin, and William Brehm.
