NOAH R. KNAPP DIED AT WESTFIELD

Funeral services for Noah R. Knapp, 83, retired Westfield farmer, who died Sunday at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Blanche Knapp of Westfield, was held at 2 o’clock this Thursday afternoon at the Congregational Church at that place. Rev. Joseph Steele of Sioux City officiated. Burial was in the Akron Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Knapp was born March 26, 1869, in Union County, S.D., and lived most of his life in that vicinity.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harry Nelson of Akron; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Noah R. Knapp

Noah R. Knapp, a resident of Plymouth County over, 75 years, died Sunday, Aug.
10, 1952, at his farm home near Westfield, at the age of 83 years.

He was born March 26, 1869, in what was then Dakota territory. He was one of
thirteen children born to Cyrus and Harriet Palmer Knapp. At a very early age
he, with his parents, moved to the Knapp homestead, south of Westfield, now
occupied by C.P. Knapp He was a lifelong resident of that locality.

On February 17, 1897, he was married to Lena Wilcox, of Akron, Ia. They first
lived in Union County, S. D., and in 1902 they moved to a farm southeast of
Westfield. Some years later, they purchased another farm in that vicinity,
where he has since resided.

To this union were horn two children, a daughter, Mrs. Marry Nelson, of Akron,
and. one son, Ward. Mr. Knapp was preceded in death by his wife and son.

Survivors are his daughter, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Blanche Knapp; with whom
he made his home; two brothers, Cyrus and Clarence Knapp, of Westfield; two
sisters, Mrs. Rose Bennett, of Akron, and Mrs. Daisy Walbom, of Salt Lake
City, Utah; also four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces
and nephews. ~Akron Register-Tribune.
