Louise A. Rann, 89, of Le Mars died Monday, Feb. 12, 1996, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars.

Louise A. Heeren was born May 4,1906, on the family farm west of Le Mars, the daughter of John and Edith (Harms) Heeren. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Johnson Township. She married Adolph Rann in 1934 at Sioux Falls, S.D. The couple farmed near Remsen and later west of Craig for a number of years. They then farmed west of Le Mars. She moved to Le Mars in 1954. She worked for Aalfs Manufacturing for more than 20 years, starting in 1955. She worked for the Carter Pitts family for a few years, helping with childcare. Mrs. Rann was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Le Mars.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry and his wife, Ruth Rann of Oyens and Bob Rann of Akron; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother and his wife, Herman and Lois Heeren of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Louis Heeren; and two sisters-in-law, Alice Heeren and Clara Heeren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian. United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dave Cave officiating. Burial, will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday), with a prayer, service at 7 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
