Hilda Emma Henrich

REMSEN, Iowa -- Hilda Emma Henrich, 86, a Remsen native and lifelong resident, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Remsen, with the Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial will be in Remsen City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 5 to 9 p.m., at the church. Visitation will resume 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

The former Hilda Emma Erichsen was born Aug. 5, 1916, on the family farm in Section 33 of Remsen Township south of Remsen, the daughter of August and Ida (Nitzschke) Erichsen. Hilda attended country school and was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen.

She married William Jacob Henrich on Feb. 27, 1938, at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. The couple farmed south of Remsen until retiring in 1986.

Mrs. Henrich was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a collector of family history, had an excellent memory and loved her family very much.

Survivors include her husband, William of Remsen; their son, Gayle and his wife, Susan of Remsen; two grandsons, C.J. Henrich of Remsen, and Jed Henrich and his wife, Shayla of Mountain Grove, Mo.; a great-granddaughter, Mackenna Henrich; two brothers, George Erichsen and his wife, Shirley of Remsen, and Arnold Erichsen and his wife, Arlene of Remsen; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Edward in infancy and Walter Erichsen.
