Lori Lynn Moos (Uhl), 43, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at her residence following a sudden heart attack.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellendale, (rural Merrill) Iowa, with the Rev. Nickolas Becker officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ellendale. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
Lori was born May 27, 1961, in Sioux City, the daughter of Thomas L. and Rosemary A. "Rosie" (Stabile) Uhl. She was raised in the Leeds area of Sioux City and graduated from North High School in 1980. She later graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Sioux City in 1990. She began her nursing career as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center.
She then worked for Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Neb., and then at a hospital in Kearney, Neb. She relocated to Omaha, where she worked for Children's Hospital in the NICU, then for Ambassador Rehabilitation Hospital, where she was a pulmonary nurse manager. Currently, she was employed by Bergen Mercy Hospital in post ICU.
She was a loving, caring, generous and kind person who loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Survivors include three children, Jason Sonier and his wife, Brandy of Omaha, Matthew Sonier and his fiancee, Kelsey of Omaha, and Katelyn Moos at home; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Kyle Sonier, and two grandchildren on the way; her father and his wife, Tom and Kathy Uhl of Merrill, Iowa; her grandmother, Evelyn Uhl of Sioux City; three brothers and their wives, Tom M. and Lori Uhl of Tulsa, Okla., Robert and Kim Uhl of Utah, and Michael and Dena Uhl of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Brenda Guptill of Omaha, and Ronda and her husband, Steve Steck of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie Uhl; and grandparents, John and Yvette Stabile and Leo Uhl.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Uhl, Robert Uhl, Michael Uhl, Jacob Guptill, Ryan Cline and Steve Steck.
