David Lilly Jr.
David Grove Lilly Jr., 61, of Westfield, Iowa, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 23, 1996, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services were held October 26, 1996, at Westfield Congregational Church, Westfield, Iowa, with Rev. Marty Healy officiating. Music was "I Don't Know About Tomorrow" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" sung by Shirley Banks, accompanied by Sheryl Banks and Arlene Morehead on the piano. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, under direction of Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, Iowa.
Casket bearers were John Martin, Chuck Dewey. Rick Hughes. Jeff Buryanek, Gilbert Lilly and Kirk Banks.
Mr. Lilly was born February 5, 1935, in Akron, the son of David Sr. and Grace (Paramore) Lilly. He graduated from Westfield High School in 1953 and Iowa State University in 1957. He married Patricia Lilly December 11, 1993, in South Sioux City Nebraska.
Mr. Lilly served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He served on the Plymouth County Fair Board and Plymouth County Zoning and Planning Commission for many years. David was a member of the Westfield Congregational
Church. His favorite passage from the Bible was Psalm 23.Survivors Include his wife; a sister and her husband, Carolyn and Barry Knapp of Westfield; a stepdaughter and her husband Tammy and Bruce Norgaard of Merrill; a stepson, Terry Ensley of Akron; 3 step grandchildren; two nieces and their husbands, Noelle and Mike Baker of Akron and Jill and Doug Moravek of Sioux City; four great-nieces, Tessa and Talia Baker and Rachael and Genevleve Moravek.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
